Details: The office of the chief prosecutor of Bolu province said that the increase in the number of dead became known after DNA analysis. Earlier, 76 victims were reported.

It is noted that the building of the Grand Kartal Hotel, where the fire occurred, is “seriously damaged”. After the final report on the hotel, it will be decided whether to strengthen or demolish it.

Prehistory:

  • The fire in the hotel started on the night of January 21. 267 personnel from various state institutions and organizations took part in extinguishing the fire.
  • As part of the fire investigation, 11 people were detained. Among those detained are the deputy mayor of the northwestern province of Bolu, the head of the municipality’s fire department, the owner and manager of the hotel.
