German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock believes that the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine should consist of both Europeans and representatives of other regions and did not rule out the participation of German representatives.
Regarding the possibility of sending German troops to our country, Berbok noted that she is “considering various elements of stable peace-making efforts with key European partners and Ukraine.” According to her, on this occasion she met with colleagues in Berlin, Warsaw and Paris.
“A peacekeeping mission can also be an element of this, of course, it requires the participation of us, the Europeans, as well as others. After all, we know: the more international commitments, the more stable peacekeeping missions are. At the same time, from countries outside Europe, with which Putin is interested in good relations. In this sense, our own participation in other continents – whether in the field of development or security policy – is very important,” she said.
In the context of the guarantee of security for Ukraine, the Foreign Minister noted that membership in the European Union and NATO is a guarantee of life, therefore, one of the most important tasks for her during the last three years was the promotion of EU enlargement processes.

She noted that the new American government has made it clear that achieving a peace that is in line with Euro-Atlantic interests is clearly more difficult and cannot be achieved through a 24-hour agreement.
“A sense of reality is important for lasting peace,” the minister emphasized.
According to her, the end of the war is in Putin’s hands.
“From a purely rational point of view, Putin will finally understand that he cannot win a war against Ukraine. The signs are clear: with the departure of Assad from Syria, the Russians have suffered a serious geopolitical defeat. Putin’s closest partner, Iran, is on the defensive. But, unfortunately, the last three years have also shown that Putin’s Russia no longer adheres to normal logic, but ideologically driven, aimed at destruction,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The greater the pressure on Putin from Trump and the concern of the Russian leader that his interests are threatened, the more effective this pressure will be, the minister believes. She explained that for this purpose she is conducting an intensive diplomatic campaign around the world to strengthen humanitarian, military and political support for Ukraine.
The fact that China is “on the verge of directly supporting Putin’s war against the European peace order” cannot be ignored, added the head of the German Foreign Ministry. A frank conversation with Beijing is needed here, noted Burbok.
