Details: When asked what the peacekeeping forces in Ukraine could look like, which was recently mentioned by the country’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Scholz answered: “First of all, it would be good if the war in Ukraine ended. But even then, we will still face the task of securing the future for Ukraine”.
He noted that we are talking about security guarantees and how Ukraine will be able to maintain a strong army, which “we are equipping together.”
“We will discuss this with our allies in the near future. But such speculations are out of the question at the moment. After all, nothing should be decided through the heads of Ukrainians. And we are still very far from peace,” concluded the German Chancellor.
