Information is spreading on social networks about the possible involvement of the children of officials or law enforcement officers in the beating of a 12-year-old girl in Bila Tserkva. However, the police have not yet discovered such facts.

In addition, the law enforcement officers have no confirmation regarding the connection of the incident with drugs, which some users of social networks assumed.

This was announced during the briefing by the head of the investigative department of the National Security Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region, Viktor Lugovy.

“At this time, there is no information that the participants of the event or their parents are officials or law enforcement officers. This issue is also being thoroughly checked. Some of the parents of the participants are fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, protecting our state. We thank them for this. Also among parents are those who died, those who do not work, and those who have a job. These are the facts that I want to record.” noted Meadow.

According to him, the version about the victim’s refusal to try narcotics as the reason for the conflict is being checked, but currently the investigation has no confirmation of this motive.

“If it is established that drugs are involved in this situation, law enforcement agencies will react immediately and uncompromisingly within the framework of the current legislation”– emphasized the head of the investigative department.

The police reported that, as of now, 10 participants in the conflict, aged between 12 and 16, have been identified. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, received the status of a suspect. He is charged with torture (Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and extortion (Part 4 of Article 189).

The maximum sanctions under these articles provide up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Lugovy assured that all those responsible will be held responsible, including the parents of the participants in the incident, if it is proven that they are guilty of improper upbringing of children.

All minors who have not been convicted have the right to continue their studies at school. Juvenile prevention, the police, teachers and psychologists work with these children.

Today, psychologists from the city council and the police are also working with the victim girl. She is also provided with legal support. The medical examination is ongoing, and the final conclusions regarding her state of health will be known after receiving the results of the forensic medical examination.

We will remind, the day before the law enforcement officers established the cause of the conflict between teenagers and have already identified 10 participants in the incident with the beating of a 12-year-old girl in Bila Tserkva.

According to Vasyl Bohdan, head of the Juvenile Prevention Department, conflict between teenagers arose because of rumors that the victim allegedly spread about other participants in the incident, as well as because of the alleged damage to the front door of another girl’s apartment. Therefore, the teenagers demanded money from the victim for this.

A 16-year-old participant in the incident hit the girl, applied moral pressure, sprayed liquid from a gas can in her face and demanded compensation in the amount of 15 thousand hryvnias. Him reported the suspicion.

Kyiv Regional Military Administration took control a high-profile case involving the beating of a child. Mykola Kalashnyk, acting head of the Kyiv Police Department, emphasized that law enforcement officers are carefully monitoring the situation.
