In Davos, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with the head of the Christian Democratic Union party, the head of the CDU/CSU opposition faction in the German Bundestag, Friedrich Mertz.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Friedrich Mertz exchanged views on the most important international issues and global challenges.
Separately, during the meeting, they discussed the necessary efforts and joint steps with the allies to establish a just and lasting peace.
The President talked about the situation on the battlefield, in particular in the Pokrovsky direction. The head of state emphasized that Germany’s approval of an additional defense support package worth 3 billion euros is critically important for Ukraine.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Friedrich Mertz discussed Russia’s attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of European countries and countering Russian propaganda.
