Former world champion Mairis Briedis spoke about a possible fight between heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and IBF cruiserweight titleholder Jay Opetai.
“I believe that if Oleksandr Usyk goes back to cruiserweight and has a fight there against Jay Opetai, the Australian will simply smear him. It won’t just win, it will tear it apart. Usyk gained this weight, this muscle mass for a long time, so if he loses weight now, he will not have the strength. Therefore, I am sure that Opetaya will win in Usyk,” said Mairis Briedis.
Usyk has repeatedly stated that he wants to return to cruiserweight and once again become the absolute champion of the world. Previously, the famous promoter Eddie Hearn said that Opetaya should become a rival for Usyk.
