President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the most important goal of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is to destroy the independence of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian head of state said this during a meeting with representatives of the International Media Council at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“We must all understand: Putin does not want to end wars and never did. He did not achieve the goals he set. For him, it is, as they say, the essential goal of independence of Ukraine. Destroying it is his most important dream. That’s why it’s so difficult for us,” Zelensky said.

It will be recalled that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, congratulating Donald Trump on his inauguration as US president, declared his readiness for dialogue regarding the war that Russia has waged against Ukraine.

On the first day of his second term as US president, Donald Trump said that the president of Ukraine is ready to conclude an agreement and noted that Russia has faced major problems that should encourage Putin to negotiate.
