In Dnipro, the embezzlement of 2 million hryvnias on the purchase of equipment for ground defense was exposed

Cyber ​​police and detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine exposed the officials of one of the communal enterprises of the Dnipro City Council for wasting budget funds in particularly large amounts. This is reported by the Cyber ​​Police of the National Police of Ukraine, reports UNN.

The law enforcement officers established that the director of the utility company, in accordance with the “Program on promoting the territorial defense of the city of Dnipro for 2022-2026”, entered into agreements with natural persons-entrepreneurs and legal entities for the supply of equipment at prices significantly higher than the average market prices.

As part of one of the agreements, the KP transferred more than UAH 17.6 million of budget funds to a private company for the supply of 518 sets of radio equipment. According to the conclusions of commodity science and economic expertise, the specified amount exceeds the market value of such equipment by more than UAH 2 million

The law enforcement officers informed the official about the suspicion under ch. 5th century 191 (Empropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides up to 12 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
