The European Union within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program allocated a grant for the improvement of road and transport infrastructure at the crossing point of the state border “Yagodin – Dorogusk” between Ukraine and Poland.
This is reported by the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
As stated in the message, the infrastructure project provides for the construction of a platform for trucks, as well as major repairs of the M-07 highway.
This highway, almost 2 km long, serves as an entrance for freight vehicles to the automobile terminal at the Yagodin checkpoint. The construction of a parking area with a total area of 13 hectares will provide additional safe parking for 600 trucks.
“The project envisages a complete renewal of the road surface of the second and third entrances to the car terminal, implementation of a set of measures for the organization and safety of traffic and their lighting. Currently, we are preparing to announce a tender to determine the executor of works on capital repair of M-07,” the agency reported.
By order of the Restoration Service in the Volyn region, project and cost documentation has already been prepared and approved.
We will remind that Ukrzaliznytsia, with the support of the European Union, opened an updated train control point on the border with Poland, which was moved to Mostyska II station. This allows to significantly increase the efficiency of transportation.
The Bila Tserkva-Shigeta Marmatia checkpoint for cargo transport on the border with Romania is planned to be launched in 2025.
And on December 21, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., traffic through the new crossing point with Poland “Nyzhankovychy – Malkhovychy” began. It is intended for cars, trucks up to 3.5 tons and buses.
