The SBI reported the suspicion to the executive director of the state-owned enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” and two directors of departments of the same enterprise, who bought mobile phones at inflated prices. This was reported by the press service of the DBR. In August 2023, the director of one of the departments of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” initiated the purchase of 2.5 thousand mobile phones for the needs of subordinate units. He did not research the market value of the equipment and offered to purchase phones for more than 18 million hryvnias. The director of another department announced the corresponding tender, for which only one private enterprise submitted an application with an offer 30% higher than the market value of the equipment. Advertising: The executive director of the state-owned enterprise, guided by the official memos of his subordinates, concluded the relevant contract for the supply of telephones. The conclusions of the examinations confirmed that the purchases were made at inflated prices and caused losses to the state of 3 million hryvnias.
