Ex-host of pro-Russian TV channels, blogger Maks Nazarov was given preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days with the alternative of paying a bail of UAH 12 million. This is reported by Suspilne.

During the meeting, the prosecutor asked for Nazarov’s detention, without specifying the amount of bail.

However, lawyer Serhii Rudenko denied this. He asked not to grant the request of the prosecutor and insisted on a milder preventive measure, for example, in the form of personal commitment or house arrest.

The lawyers noted that during the search, Nazarov did not hinder investigative actions, and also voluntarily provided all the things that were of interest to the investigation. We are talking about a mobile phone, computers and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad.

Max Nazarov stated during the meeting that he is not responsible for the word of his guests, whom he interviewed until 2022 on the YouTube channel.

On January 18, the SBU searched Max Nazarov and informed him of the suspicion of justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine stated that the law enforcement officers collected a large-scale evidence base and received the conclusions of independent examinations that confirm the anti-Ukrainian activities of the figure who, after the start of the full-scale war, continued to spread the Kremlin’s narratives, in particular on YouTube.

According to the SBU, during the interview, both the author himself and his guests repeatedly tried to justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as the war crimes of the occupiers.

Max Nazarov (real name – Nazar Diorditsa) worked as a TV presenter, in particular on a TV channel that, until its closure in 2022, was controlled by the ex-Deputy from OPZZ Viktor Medvedchuk, who is suspected of high treason.

Suspicion also came from Nazarov’s accomplice, who appeared on his broadcasts as an “expert.” According to activist Serhiy Sternenko, the “expert” is Dmytro Korniychuk.
