General Staff: during the day in the Pokrovsky direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped 73 assault and offensive actions of the Russian troops

Over the past 24 hours, 152 combat clashes have been recorded at the front, almost half of them in the Pokrovsky direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning summary.

According to the headquarters, on this part of the front, Ukrainian defenders stopped 73 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Vodyane Druge, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Elizavetivka, Myrnograd, Kotline, Nadiivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakla and Yantarne settlements.

In the Toretsk direction, as stated in the summary, the enemy intensified, carrying out 17 attacks near Toretsk, Krymsky, Diliivka, Shcherbinivka, and Ozaryanivka. On the Lymanskyi direction, the Russian troops attacked 15 times, trying to advance near Nadia, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Kopanok, Nevskyi, Ternyi and in the direction of Zarichny.

Also, the forces of the Russian Federation do not stop their attacks in the Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Siversk, Kramatorsk, Novopavlovsk and Kursk directions

The headquarters reported four unsuccessful attempts by the Russian invaders to storm the positions of Ukrainian units in the island zone of the Dnieper delta in the Dnieper direction.

Russia, considering everything, broke through another front line in Donbas, which had been stable for a long time – near Terni and Ivanovka in the north of the Donetsk region, the DeepState project reported on the night of January 20.

The threat is that Russian troops have reached the western bank of the Zherebets River and, according to analysts, are already trying to break through to the south.

The defense forces are doing everything to prevent Pokrovsk from being taken over by the Russian army, head Oleksandr Syrsky assured in an interview with “TSN Tizhden” on January 19. Meanwhile, the enemy is trying to get hold of the settlements in the south and west of Pokrovsk, says Viktor Tregubov, the spokesman of the Khortytsia OSU.

According to the observations of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on January 13, Russian troops are cutting roads to the east and west of Pokrovsk in an attempt to surround the city.

The DeepState project and the American Institute for the Study of War reported that the Russian army in the first days of 2025 is actively capturing new territories to the south, southeast and east of Pokrovsk.
