Heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk told how hard he experienced his first defeat in amateur boxing.

“It was a tournament in Crimea. It was very difficult for me then, I really thought about quitting boxing. I thought I was a bad boxer if I lost. “I come home, I say to my father: ‘Hello, I lost.’ He told me, ok, no problem, try again. I admitted to him that I wanted to finish with the side, but my father told me about Evander Holyfield and it made me reject those thoughts,” Usyk admitted.

Earlier, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk was recognized as the best fighter of 2024 according to The Ring magazine.
