In Ukraine, the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade named after Anna of Kyiv was detained. During his command in the brigade, there were mass cases of servicemen voluntarily leaving their posts.
This is reported to the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to sources, the detainee is Dmytro Ryumshin. On January 20, SBU employees in cooperation with the SBU and with the support of the Ministry of Defense and the command of the Armed Forces detained the former commander of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He is accused of allowing mass desertion among subordinates.
The investigation established that during his service as a commander, Ryumshin did not inform law enforcement officers about a significant number of cases of servicemen voluntarily leaving their posts during preparation for joining the European Union and during combat missions in eastern Ukraine.
In addition, the possibility of the existence of corruption schemes in the brigade, in particular, regarding the selection of servicemen for training abroad, as well as possible schemes that allowed servicemen to evade their duties for bribes, are being checked.
The former commander of the 155th OMBR will be brought to Kyiv to be notified of suspicion for improper performance of official duties, which led to significant damage.
According to these articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the penalty is up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Earlier we wrote that several generals responsible for the unsuccessful defense of the Kharkiv region during the offensive of Russian troops in 2024 were detained in Ukraine. They could not provide adequate protection of the region.
Recently, 20 carriers were disconnected from the “Shlyah” system, which systematically violated the rules of crossing the state border by conscripts. That is, their drivers fled abroad without returning to Ukraine.
