The SBU reported the suspicion to the former deputy minister of social policy

The Security Service of Ukraine has accused the ex-deputy minister of social policy of “official negligence”, according to the press service of the department. It was established that, “being an active deputy minister, during the full-scale war, the person involved entered into an unauthorized agreement with a commercial enterprise on the purchase of computers for the central apparatus of the ministry. He signed it contrary to the law.” According to the SBU, “the agreement did not meet the goals and objectives of the cooperation project with the World Bank, within the scope of which the purchase of computer equipment was supposed to take place. It was also not agreed with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.” “The results of the forensic and economic examination conducted as part of the investigation confirmed the damage to the state budget in the amount of more than UAH 24 million,” the SBU emphasized. The department says that based on the collected evidence, the ex-deputy minister is charged with official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to five years behind bars with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. The former deputy minister himself has not publicly commented on the suspicion of the SBU. The former deputy minister himself has not publicly commented on the suspicion of the SBU.

According to media reports, the suspect is Boris Lebedtsov, who held the post of deputy minister from March 2020 to June 2022.
