The State Bureau of Investigation reports on the discovery of a fraud that caused the state more than 83 million hryvnias in losses during the purchase of spare parts for armored vehicles.

Details: The suspicion was reported to the head of one of the central departments of the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (according to the UP Valery Khrebet -ed), to the head of the department of this department (Valery Kosmydailo -ed.) and the director of a private enterprise.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the director of a private enterprise submitted a commercial proposal for the supply of necessary spare parts to one of the departments of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, he deliberately inflated the price of products and did not have the relevant experience in manufacturing and supplying such products.
Management officials responsible for procurement were aware of the availability of other suppliers. However, they did not carry out appropriate checks of the company’s offer and prices on the market, formally conducted negotiations with the company and announced it as the winner.
Because of this, two contracts were signed for the supply of spare parts at inflated prices.
The total amount of the contract amounted to over 171 million hryvnias.
According to the results of the examinations, the law enforcement officers established that the state suffered losses of more than 83 million hryvnias.
The head of one of the central departments of the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the department of this department was notified of the suspicion of exceeding his official powers, committed under martial law, based on a previous conspiracy.
The director of a private enterprise was notified of suspicion of misappropriation of property by abuse of official position.
Searches were conducted at the place of residence of the accused. The submission of a motion to choose a preventive measure – arrest is being prepared.
The investigation continues, the facts of the legalization of the money received for spare parts by the director of the enterprise are being investigated, the SBI notes.
