Details: According to Palestinian reports, some of those released were taken to Ramallah and their homes in East Jerusalem.

Ahead of the return of the Israeli hostages, the prison service took the first group of Palestinian prisoners to Ofer prison in the West Bank, where Israeli security forces and representatives of the Red Cross verified the identity of each prisoner and conducted a medical examination before releasing them in coordination with the security forces and the government.

Among the detainees are 78 West Bank residents released at the Beituniya checkpoint near Ofer prison.

The other 12 residents of East Jerusalem were transported back to the city and released to their homes from the “Russian Complex” prison.

Among those released are 69 women, including one minor, eight minor boys and 12 men convicted of relatively minor offenses such as incitement, identification with terrorism and public disorder.

In total, nearly 2,000 prisoners are scheduled to be released during the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
