Just signed a decree that gives effect to the NSDC’s decision on sanctions. We block propagandists who work for Russia, people who have defected to the enemy, and those who help Russia continue the war. And we also continue to deprive state awards – only those who really dedicate their lives to Ukraine deserve the title of Hero of Ukraine. We are currently preparing new sanctions decisions. They will be there soon.
There will be several appointments today. First: in the “Army+” application, the survey about the new head of the Sahaidachny National Academy of Ground Forces has been completed. It is important that this decision is made together with our military. The Commander-in-Chief and Commander of the Ground Forces proposed five candidates – Brigadier Generals Serhiy Baranov and Mykhailo Sydorenko, Colonels Yevhen Lasiichuk, Oleksandr Bakulin, and Roman Kachur. Colonel Roman Kachur received the most votes. He knows the front well, he commanded the 55th separate artillery brigade. I spoke with Colonel Kachur – he has a vision of what to change in military education and specifically in the National Army Academy. I instructed him to present to society what will change in the academy, to conduct an audit in the academy – a full-fledged audit: both how it is financed, and how cadets study, and who works at the academy. He instructed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Umyerov to appoint Colonel Kachur to the position of head of the academy. We need the highest quality training of our soldiers, our officers, and training based on the experience of this war, based on the heroism of Ukrainian boys at the front. The Ukrainian army needs leaders of the tactical unit – strong sergeants, strong lieutenants. I thank all our soldiers who took part in the survey. And we will continue to involve our people in the adoption of state decisions with the help of “Army+” and other digital tools of our state. And the second appointment: Brigadier General Gennady Shapovalov will work with our partners in Wiesbaden, his task is to coordinate security assistance to Ukraine.
