A pilot project to verify the origin of Ukrainian agricultural products will be launched in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. The head of Minagro, Vitaly Koval, together with his British and Lithuanian colleagues, signed an updated Memorandum on the launch of the Grain Verification Scheme (GVS) system to combat the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories. “The pilot implementation of this initiative will take place in Lithuania – in the port of Klaipėda, which will become a key hub for verifying the origin of Ukrainian agricultural products,” noted Vitaliy Koval. According to the agreement, GVS will allow to identify the stolen grain and stop its illegal transportation. Great Britain will provide an innovative database, advanced technologies for determining the place of cultivation. We will remind: Russia probably supplies grain stolen from Ukraine to the Houthis, who control most of Yemen. Since 2022, Russia and its partners have sold grain stolen from the occupied territories of Ukraine for almost one billion dollars.
