Israel announced a ceasefire in Gaza after Hamas handed over a list of three hostages to be released on Sunday.

Details: After a delay in handing over the list, Hamas did provide the names of the three female hostages who were scheduled to be released later in the day, allowing Israel to announce the start of the ceasefire.

The silence was originally scheduled to take effect at 8:30 a.m., but the transmission of the list was delayed, causing the time to shift to 11:15 a.m. local time.

Despite the delay, Israeli forces continued to strike targets in Gaza for two hours before.
