On January 18, the 2025 Australian Open saw the round of 16 matches in the lower part of the women’s draw.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina beat world number four Jasmine Paolini. Next, the Ukrainian will play against the “neutral” Veronika Kudermetova, who passed Beatrice Haddad Maya.

Another representative of Ukraine Diana Yastremska lost to 6th seed Yelena Rybakinia. The Kazakhstan woman will meet Madison Keys in the 4th round. The American defeated her compatriot Danielle Collins.

Eva Lys, who was born in Kyiv, has already won 3 matches in the base as a lucky loser. On Saturday, she won against Jacqueline Christian. For a place in the quarterfinals, she will fight against the second racket of the world, Iga Sveontek, who managed to beat Emma Radukanu.
