It was established that the resident (head) of the enemy cell was an active engineer of the Kyiv Metropoliten utility company. According to the case file, the official was recruited in 2015 in Moscow during a personal meeting with a staff member of the FSB. His identity has already been established by cyber specialists of the Security Service
According to information, the recruited agent was put on “standby mode” and “uncanned” after the start of a full-scale war through a messenger message.
The task of the agent was to create a network for collecting information about the basing and movement of the Ukrainian military, as well as directing missile and drone attacks by the Rashists.
In addition, the man did not act alone, he also involved his acquaintances. In particular, a native of Kharkiv, who left the military unit after mobilization, and before that worked for 10 years at Ukrzaliznytsia and was a driver of international road transport.
The deserter monitored the movement of the military echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the driver – under the guise of work trips – leaked the coordinates of roadblocks and units of the Defense Forces. The suspect’s brother and mother were also involved in the criminal activities of the agent group.
It is reported that the head of the intelligence group received the “necessary” geolocations from his henchmen, summarized them and passed the “reports” to his Russian curator. According to the investigation, the resident personally launched missile strikes on Kyiv, which is confirmed by his intercepted conversations.
SBU employees documented the crimes of the Russian agency and detained its resident in Kyiv. At the same time, a deserter agent was detained in Kharkiv.
During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of work in the Russian Federation were seized from the suspects. A firearm was also found, which was handed over for examination.
The investigators of the Security Service informed the two detainees and two relatives of the leader of the enemy cell that they are suspected of having committed crimes under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are currently in custody.
The issue of reporting suspicion to the third member of the group – a driver of international flights who is hiding abroad – is being resolved. Perpetrators face from 8 years of imprisonment to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
