Dmytro Maslovsky, who died in hand-to-hand combat, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine – Zelenskyi

The senior soldier of the 71st Separate Hunter Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmytro Maslovsky, who died in Donetsk region in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian soldier, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this on January 17.

“Dmytro’s last battle, the battle in Donetsk region, was seen by millions of Ukrainians. Exemplary bravery of our boy. Ukraine will always remember this bravery. “I handed over the Hero of Ukraine’s Gold Star to the mother of our soldier,” the post states.

On November 17, 2024, Dmytro Maslovsky (nickname “Cobra”) died in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian soldier in the village of Trudove in the Donetsk region near Kurakhovo during a fight with a Russian soldier. The video of his last fight was shared on social networks.

The command of the 71st separate hunting brigade, in which Dmytro served, submitted a posthumous application for awarding him the title of Hero of Ukraine.
