On January 22, on the Day of the National Assembly of Ukraine, “Ukrposhta” will issue postage stamps depicting the clothes of Ukrainians from the Kuban, Belgorod Region, and Kursk Region, the company’s press service reported on January 17.

“This special stamp is dedicated to the anniversary of the signing by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, of the decree “On the territories of the Russian Federation historically inhabited by Ukrainians.” The decree was the Kremlin’s response to the distortion of the history and national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation, in particular in the lands historically inhabited by them: Kuban, Starodubshchyna, Northern and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna,” the post states.

The new postal issue with the image of the national clothes of the Ukrainians of the Kuban, Belgorod Region and Kursk Region is a continuation of the “Ukrainian National Clothing” series of postage stamps launched in 2001, the company noted.

“Sobornost Day has a special meaning for all Ukrainians, because the very term “sobornost” combines the idea of ​​uniting all the country’s territories into one state entity and the cohesion and unity of all citizens, regardless of their nationality. By issuing a new stamp, Ukrposhta supports the return of the truth about the historical past for the sake of Ukraine’s future,” the message reads.

The postage stamps presented by Ukrposhta in 2025 are “Kurshchyna. Feast of Yavdokha”, “Belhorodshchyna. Easter”, “Kuban. Sviato Rodu” will be issued with a circulation of 600,000 copies each.

It is reported that the postal block “Ukrainian national clothing” consists of 6 stamps: “Kurshchyna. Feast of Yavdokha”; “Kurshchyna. Feast of Procopius”; “Belhorodshchyna. Easter”; “Belhorodshchyna. Collodion”; “Kuban. Family Day”; “Kuban. St. George’s Day.” The circulation of the postal block is 30,000 copies.

On January 22, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the decree “On territories of the Russian Federation historically inhabited by Ukrainians.” According to him, “this is the return of the truth about the historical past for the sake of the Ukrainian future.”

The document decreed “to consider an action plan for preserving the national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation.” Including on the lands historically inhabited by them (in the Kuban, Starodub region, Northern and Eastern Slobozhan region within the modern Krasnodar region, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov regions of the Russian Federation).
