Basic combined military training (BZVP) for students of higher educational institutions will begin in September 2025. It provides 300 academic hours.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“All students – both men and women – have to pass theory. The practical course is mandatory only for men who are fit for military service due to their health. Women will practice only at their own will and after passing a medical examination,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

The basic combined military training will consist of two parts: a theoretical course – 90 academic hours, which students must complete in their educational institutions, and a practical course – 210 academic hours in training units, centers of the Armed Forces and other institutions.

In addition, during the training, students will receive basic knowledge of tactical, intelligence and psychological training, first aid and the basics of military discipline. They will also learn the skills of handling weapons.

The Ministry of Defense added that after passing the BZVP, students will take a military oath and receive a certificate and a military accounting specialty.

We will remind you that on January 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 12076 on amendments to the Law “On Military Duty and Service”. The decision was supported by 298 people’s deputies.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved new standards for the training of servicemen in pre-medical care. These standards are aimed at improving the competence of fighters in providing assistance in combat and extreme conditions.
