Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer confirmed that his country fully participates in the establishment of peace in Ukraine, up to the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent.

He stated this in a comment on the Sky News channel during a visit to Kyiv.

Starmer said he did not want to “jump ahead”, but assured that the UK would play a “full role” in any peace talks, including by deploying British troops to support the peace.

“It’s about how it will affect the United Kingdom and our values, our freedom, our democracy. Because if Russia manages to carry out this aggression, it will affect all of us for a very, very long time,” the British Prime Minister emphasized.

Earlier, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, confirmed the existence of negotiations on sending French and British peacekeepers to Ukraine.

The Telegraph wrote that French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are discussing the possibility of sending military personnel from their countries to Ukraine as a peacekeeping contingent.

We will remind you that European politicians are skeptical about the possibility of sending a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine if the US military is not involved.

And recently, during a visit to Poland, French President Emmanuel Macron discussed with Prime Minister Donald Tusk the deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities.

German chancellor candidate and leader of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Friedrich Merz said that Germany can consider participating in peacekeeping forces in Ukraine only if a consensus is reached with Russia.
