Ukrainian films about the war will be shown at the film festival in Berlin / a shot from the film “Time to Take Off”Two films about the war in Ukraine will be shown at the Berlin Film Festival, which is considered one of the most prestigious festivals in Europe and the world.In the “Forum” section, the films “Time of Flight” directed by Vitaly Mansky and “When lightning flashes over the sea” by Eva Neyman will be presented. This was reported by the press service of the festival.
In “Time of Flight”, which was created in the co-production of Ukraine, Latvia and the Czech Republic, the events take place in the west of Ukraine. This is a documentary film depicting the life cycle of social rites of mourning and everyday rituals of Ukrainians.
The film “When lightning flashes over the sea” is a story about the life and dreams of Odessans during the war, when no one knows what tomorrow will be like. The director worked on the film together with her German colleagues.
By the way, the Berlin Film Festival has been held annually since 1951. This year it will be held from February 13 to 23. The jury awards the winners with statuettes in the form of the Golden and Silver Bear, which is a symbol of Berlin.
It will be recalled that recently it became known that the “Oscar-2025” film award is under threat.
