At the age of 79, the iconic American film director David Lynch died, his family announced on Facebook.

Literally: “It is with deep sadness that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and artist – David Lynch. Now that he is no longer with us, there is a huge hole in the world. But, as he would say, ‘watch the donut, and not behind the hole.” Today is a beautiful day – the golden sun is shining, and the sky is blue.”
In August of last year, Lynch announced that he had been diagnosed with emphysema, and in November he talked about his breathing difficulties. “I can barely walk around the room. It’s like walking around with a plastic bag over your head,” he said.

- David Lynch began his career as an artist for animated films. His picture “Elephant Man” of 1980 received eight nominations for “Oscar”. In 2019, the director received the “Oscar” for outstanding services in the cinematography.
- Lynch is the author of the cult television series “Twin Peaks”, which was released in the early 1990s. In 2017, Lynch directed the sequel to the series – “Twin Peaks: The Return”; it became his last work.
