Kalinina won the first doubles match at the AO in a super tie-break

Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinin successfully started in doubles at the 2025 Australian Open.

In the 1st round, the Ukrainian woman and her partner Lucia Bronzetti (Italy) beat the tandem in three sets Magda Lynette (Poland) / Juliana Olmos (Mexico) in 2 hours and 39 minutes.

The game started on January 15, but with a score of 6:4, 0:2 in favor of the Ukrainian and the Italian, it was interrupted due to rain and postponed to Thursday.

This was the first meeting of the duo. Kalinina and Bronzetti played in the same pair for the first time.

In the next round, Angelina and Lucia will meet the winners of the match Beatrice Haddad Maia (Brazil) / Laura Siegemund (Germany) – Quinn Gleason (USA) / Suzanne Lamens (Netherlands).

Kalinina has already completed her performances at the AO-2025 in singles. In the opening match, she lost to Ons Zhaber.
