The State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations stated on January 16 that the information about the mobilization of 50% of the employees of the State Emergency Service “does not correspond to reality.”

“90% of the staff of the State Emergency Service is booked. At the same time, we emphasize that the employees of operational response units (firemen, sappers, rescuers, chemists, engineers, etc.) are fully booked. Every day, employees of the State Emergency Service rescue citizens, eliminate the consequences of Russian shelling, often at the cost of their own health and life,” the rescuers inform, urging them to “use only verified information.”

Earlier on January 16, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksiy Goncharenko (European Solidarity faction), reported with reference to the employees of the State Emergency Service that “the management intimidates them, tells them that their armor is kept until February 28, and then 50% will be transferred to the Armed Forces.”

For the first time, reports about the possibility of mobilizing half of the rescuers appeared in June 2024. Then the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, reacting to these reports, announced the approval of the agreed decision to reserve 90% of the personnel of the State Emergency Service and the National Police.
