38-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Volodko (WTA 585) opened the new season at the ITF W35 hard tournament in Palm Coast, USA.
The Ukrainian started to perform in the qualification. In the first round of selection, she defeated Raquel Geiris (USA, WTA 831), winning in a super tiebreak.
In the decisive match for entry to the main draw, Kateryna lost to Victoria Osigwe (USA, WTA 833) in three sets. Despite the defeat, Kateryna still got into the game, having received the status of a lucky loser.
But it was not possible to go far behind the net. In the round of 16, Volodko lost to 15-year-old American Chukwumelia Clark, who was given a wild card by the organizers.
