This is reported on the website of her office.

It is noted that Frederiksen emphasized the importance of strengthening security in the Arctic, and that Denmark is ready to take on even greater responsibility for this.

“In the conversation, the Prime Minister referred to the statements of the Speaker of the Parliament of Greenland, Mute Egede, that the island is not for sale, while the decision on independence should be made by the inhabitants of Greenland itself.

“The Prime Minister emphasized that Danish companies contribute to growth and job creation in the United States, and that the EU and the United States have a common interest in strengthening trade,” the statement said.

Trump’s encroachment on GreenlandAs UNIAN reported, recently elected US President Donald Trump once again spoke about joining Greenland. He stated that for the purposes of national security and freedom throughout the world, “the United States of America considers possession and control of Greenland to be an absolute necessity.”

Denmark, in turn, said that Greenland is not for sale. Shortly after that, the king changed the coat of arms of the country – the symbols of Greenland and the Faroe Islands appeared on it.

Later, the leader of Greenland, Mute Egede, declared his readiness for a dialogue with Trump regarding the future of the island. At the same time, he warned that Greenland was not interested in becoming Americans.
