Illustration by REUTERSIn 2024, DTEK invested about UAH 11 billion in the restoration of thermal power plants after Russian attacks, as well as in maintaining stable coal production.This is stated in the message of DTEK.
In particular, according to the results of the year, the company’s investments in repairs and restoration of thermal power plants amounted to more than UAH 3 billion. This made it possible to restore more than half of the TPP capacities that were destroyed as a result of the spring-summer 2024 attacks on the eve of winter. However, massive attacks in November and December of last year caused further serious destruction and damage.
At the same time, investments in coal production for 2024 amounted to about UAH 7.5 billion, thanks to which it was possible to maintain fuel reserves necessary for thermal generation during the year.
It is noted that the investments were aimed at carrying out and repairing capital mining works, completing coal beds, equipping mines with tunneling equipment, underground mine transport and production capacity support projects.
“We are directing all possible and available resources so that thermal generation and the Ukrainian energy system can work stably in the face of enemy attacks. For this, in the past year, in total, about UAH 11 billion of our own funds have been invested in TPPs and mines,” said Oleksandr Fomenko, General Director of DTEK Energo .
It will be recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Rinat Akhmetov’s DTEK TPP, they have been fired upon more than 200 times.
