The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that today the number of the Ukrainian army is 880,000.

“You know, today there are about 600,000 Russian contingents on the territory of our state. As for the Ukrainian army, today it is 880 thousand (military). But 880,000 protect the entire territory,” he said at a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

He noted that the Russian troops are concentrated in several areas, so they have a numerical advantage in some areas.

“And when the war ends, we must understand what the contingent of other countries is like. We support this idea and must understand how much it is. Second, we must understand what the army of Ukraine will be like, which today protects not only Ukraine. This is a very large army. Games with messages about contractions and such – we don’t play that today. Because it is such a large army that holds back the enemy today. This is also a serious, and currently the only guarantee of safety. Plus help, plus weapons from our partners. Therefore, how to preserve a large army is also part of these agreements,” Zelenskyy added.
