“It is not known when there will be a vote of confidence in the government”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The opposition pointed to problems in the field of health care and rising prices. At the same time, they talked about attempts to question Slovakia’s foreign policy orientation.
“Robert Fico left Slovakia. Instead of being in his country and working on solving problems, he flies around the world and bows to dictators,” said the head of the largest opposition party “Progressive Slovakia” Michal Šimečka.
It is not known when there will be a vote of confidence in the government.
For the opposition to win, it is necessary to get a majority of votes. In this case, the Slovak president would have to form a new government.
Fico traveled to Moscow last month for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on ending the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, but did not visit Kyiv.
On January 13, Fico said that Slovakia loses 500 million euros a year due to the termination of gas transit from Russia and offered a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The leader of Ukraine invited Fico to Kyiv this Friday. The day before, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Slovakia Tibor Gaspar announced that Fico will not come to Ukraine.
