The publication notes that the fact of the fire at the refinery was confirmed by the operational services. It was reported there that installation No. 18 and two heat exchangers caught fire. The reason was called “non-staff situation” at the enterprise itself, and not “external influence”.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not report the drone attack on the Volgograd region in its morning briefing, and the regional authorities did not mention the fire at the oil refinery.
For reference: “Lukoil-Volgogradnaftoperobka” plant is the largest producer of petroleum products in the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation, the capacity of the enterprise is 14.8 million tons.
