Insurance experience: increased againFrom January 1, 2025, the length of insurance experience required for retirement has increased by age Now, in order to retire at the age of 60, it is necessary to have at least 32 years of insurance experience.
If a person does not have sufficient insurance experience after reaching the age of 60, he has the right to retire at the age of 63 with an experience of 22-31 years, and only at the age of 65 with an experience of 15-21 years. If the length of service is less than 15 years, instead of a pension, a person will receive state social assistance after reaching the age of 65.
Social assistance: how to get itShortage pension is a financial support for those who do not meet the standard requirements for a pension. The amount of such social assistance is determined depending on the subsistence minimum and the income of the applicant’s family.
At present, the living wage for persons who have lost their ability to work is UAH 2,361.
The maximum amount of the social pension cannot exceed UAH 3,028 – this amount is the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons.
The calculation of the social pension is based on the difference between the subsistence minimum and the average monthly total income of the applicant’s family for the last six months. The payment is reviewed every six months, taking into account changes in income.
In order to receive such social assistance, it is necessary to apply to the social protection authority at the place of residence. The following documents are required for registration:
- application for assistance;
- passport;
- identification code;
- a certificate from the Pension Fund of Ukraine about insurance experience;
- a declaration of income and property status, which is filled out on the basis of income certificates of all family members for the last six months;
- a copy of the decision on the appointment of a guardian (if necessary).
Social pension is not granted if the average monthly income per family member exceeds the subsistence minimum. Also, such assistance should not be counted on when receiving another pension, social assistance or income from renting property; if a purchase worth more than UAH 50,000 was made during the last year; if you own more than one house, apartment or car.
Age allowances: maintainedThis year, pensioners will again receive age allowances.
After reaching 70 years, the allowance will be UAH 300, 75 years – 456 UAH, 80 years – 570 UAH.
Additional condition: to receive an allowance, the amount of the pension must not exceed UAH 10,340.35.
The pension supplement is calculated automatically based on information from the Pension Fund, there is no need to submit an additional application. For the first time, the allowance is calculated in the month following the month of reaching a certain age, and the amount of the allowance for the first time will be proportional to the number of days after the pensioner’s birthday. For example, if a person turned 70 on January 15, in February they will be charged UAH 150 instead of UAH 300.
Reduce to a minimum: to whom it is proposed to reduce pensionsSome Ukrainians may have their pensions cut to the living wage for the disabled, which currently amounts to UAH 2,361. We are talking about citizens who have been convicted of treason. The Verkhovna Rada has already adopted the corresponding bill No. 10355 as a basis.
If the document is adopted, such pensioners will have their benefits reduced to a minimum, regardless of what benefits they were previously charged by the state. The Constitution does not allow them to be left without a pension at all.
The law will apply not only to those pensions that have already been assigned, but also to those that will only be assigned to citizens convicted under the listed criminal articles. In particular, if they have the right to special pensions, they will be charged a pension on a general basis. At the same time, regardless of the amount of accrued pension, they will receive the minimum until the end of the sentence.
Maximum pension: unchangedThe maximum pension in Ukraine will not change until at least 2028 and will amount to ten subsistence minimums for the disabled – UAH 23,610. This payment includes the basic amount of the pension, all allowances and additional payments.
According to the current legislation, the maximum pension will be granted to scientists, people’s deputies, employees of local self-government and civil servants.
Beware: Scammers!
The Pension Fund of Ukraine warned that there will be no indexation of pensions from January 15.
“Recently, in Telegram channels with a dubious reputation, unknown persons spread information about indexation of pensions, which will allegedly be carried out in the near future. In order to receive it in time, pensioners are encouraged to fill out a certain questionnaire. We draw attention – this is manipulation,” the PFU said in a statement.
The actions of fraudsters are aimed at encouraging gullible users to click on a link, where further registration to a closed information channel and phishing actions will take place (a type of fraud, the purpose of which is to extract personal data. – Author). In order not to become victims of fraudsters, the Pension Fund urges not to click on such links in any case.
The PFU reminds that the conditions for indexation of pensions are determined by the second part of Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mandatory State Pension Insurance”. Such recalculation is carried out without an additional application and does not require filling out any questionnaires.
Reliable information about pensions, housing subsidies and benefits, insurance payments should not be obtained from dubious sources, but from the Fund’s information channels:
