Morning – military. A report on the front, our needs for arms and related supplies.
A separate conversation with the commander of the Air Force. Today there was a lot of different information, outrage and discussion about translations. I instructed to clarify everything to the public and not to reduce the number of specialists that the Air Force needs to perform combat missions – our aviation, air defense and mobile fire groups.
Day – meetings about our work with partners. We have planned the coming weeks – regarding European destinations. New meetings with leaders are on the schedule, and among the key goals is to increase partner investments in ensuring our defense. Today, the Minister of Defense of Germany visited Kyiv: we talked, in particular, about air defense, about new systems that are needed for our cities, as well as financial support. Germany is among the leaders in helping Ukraine, and in the total amount of support from all countries, Germany is 16%. Very seriously. I thanked him for this and noted that there is a direct relationship between the level of support and what we can implement both on the battlefield and in the protection of life in the rear. Also in Ukraine today is the Speaker of the Parliament of Latvia. We discussed further cooperation. Both Germany and Latvia participated in today’s meeting of the NATO countries of the Baltic region, and this is another region in which it is clear that Russia is investing resources precisely in continuing the war, precisely in creating problems for everyone in Europe. This applies to Russia’s shadow tanker fleet, as well as spying on European countries and their infrastructure in the Baltic, threats to underwater critical infrastructure. No less dangerous are new threats from drones, which can be used by Russia to destabilize the operation of infrastructure facilities on the continent. Such as airports or power plants. All of us must coordinate work together for our protection, for greater security for our countries.
