Therefore, suspending the operation of the enterprise is a necessary step , which will now help save human lives.
We believe in the victory of Ukraine, we believe in the Armed Forces, and we are ready to restore the work of the Pokrovsk coal group and Pokrovsk itself after repelling the Russian invasion,” said the group’s general director Yuriy Ryzhenkov.
It is noted that the mine workers and their families were evacuated, the company provided them with free accommodation in its dormitories. And the Group provides employees who are not involved in the suspension of work with the opportunity to undergo retraining and get a job at the assets of “Metinvest” in Zaporizhzhia, Kamiansk and Kryvyi Rih.
“In connection with the suspension of the work of the Pokrovsk coal group, the management of Metinvest has developed an action plan in case of emergency situations to ensure the supply of the necessary raw materials (coal, coke) for the production of steel at the Group’s metallurgical assets (“Kametstal” and the joint venture “Zaporizhstal”)” , – the message says.
In particular, the measures provide for the replacement of Ukrainian raw materials with coking coal from the American United Coal Company (part of the Metinvest Group), the use of increased coal reserves, as well as the provision of additional coal and coke supplies from third-party suppliers.
