“In general, Germany helped Ukraine, its contribution is about 16% of all the aid that Ukraine received. 16% are very serious numbers, we are especially grateful for the fact that in difficult moments of sky protection, blackouts. Germany probably made one of the biggest contributions to the construction of the newest Ukrainian air defense system,” Zelenskyy said before the meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Kyiv.
He thanked Germany for the Patriot, Iris and Gepard air defense systems.
“This is so important, and they are very protective of our critical infrastructure, including the power grid,” Zelenskyy added.
In December of last year, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported that Germany’s total aid to Ukraine amounted to 37 billion euros. This is the largest among all European countries.
