It is reported that WBC, WBO and WBA second middleweight world champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul Alvarez (62–2–2, 39 KOs, Mexico) will meet with the WBA first middleweight title holder (up to 69, 9 kg) by Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KO, USA). The Mexican ranks fifth in the P4P rating, the American is ranked second in the list of the strongest boxers of our time, regardless of weight category.
ESPN’s Julius Julianis reported that the parties had agreed on a deal: “Sources close to the organization of this fight have told me that an agreement has already been reached to hold a fight between Alvarez and Crawford this September in Las Vegas,” she wrote on social media networks
It is not known at what weight class this fight will take place, but insiders believe that Crawford will have to make weight and move up to Alvarez’s division.
Turki Al-Sheikh previously said that the fight between Crawford and Alvarez is one of the priorities for 2025.
