“There are a number of small settlements near Pokrovsk. There are Elizavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Promin, Novy Trud, etc. The Russians are trying to grab hold of every house there and move on,” he said.
Tregubov noted that Russian troops are not going to the city itself.
However, according to the spokesman, the occupiers are trying to partially encircle Pokrovsk and enter the forest strip near the highway through which part of the supply to the city goes.
“I wouldn’t say that they have succeeded so far, but they are trying very hard and have a lot of resources. First of all, it is a human, technical, and logistical resource,” noted Tregubov.
What is known about the situation in the Pokrovsky direction
On January 10, Serhiy Dobryak, the head of the Pokrovsk city military administration, said that the front line is a couple of kilometers from Pokrovsk. Almost all critical infrastructure in the city has been destroyed.
On January 12, Ukrainian Pravda reported that Russian troops had changed tactics in the Pokrovsky direction and were trying to bypass the city from the south to the west in order to enter the Dnipropetrovsk region.
