Details: As noted in British intelligence, during December 2024, Russia launched approximately 1,700 strike drones of various types in the regions of Ukraine.
The review says this is down from November, when 2,300 were launched, making it the first time since March-April 2024 that the number of drones has declined.
The intelligence said weather factors likely affected operations earlier in the month, as evidenced by several nights with waves of more than 100 drones that followed periods of particularly low or no activity.
Ukraine’s air force reported that 53 percent of the Russian drones were shot down, while the rest were disabled by electronic warfare or had already deviated from their course without posing a significant threat, the agency added.
“Various factors can positively or negatively affect the monthly number of launches, but it remains likely that Russia can maintain the number of launches at the level of at least 1,500 per month,” British intelligence concluded.
It should be noted that only on the night of January 13, Russia attacked with 110 attack drones, 78 of them were shot down by air defense, there is damage due to falling debris, 31 enemy drones did not reach the target.
In October, British intelligence officers wrote that within a month, Russia had launched in Ukrainian regions about 2 thousand attack dronesand this is approximately 700 units more than in September.
