“On January 11, 2025, in order to stop the supply of gas to European countries, the Kyiv regime attempted an attack using nine aircraft-type UAVs on the infrastructure of the “Russian” compressor station in the village of Gai-Kodzor (Krasnodar Territory), which provides gas through the pipeline “Turkish stream”. During the repulse of the raid by air defense units, all the UAVs were shot down,” the Russian military department reported, clarifying that “there were no casualties among the compressor station personnel and no damage.”
Ukraine did not officially comment on these reports of the Russian military department.
Drone attacks on oil refineries, as well as oil product storage bases and other objects of Russia’s fuel and energy infrastructure, have been ongoing for over a year. Kyiv confirmed involvement in some of them. The strikes are likely part of an effort to cut fuel supplies to the Russian military, and could also cut export revenues that Moscow uses to finance the war.
