On January 13, the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada considered the IMF bill #12245 on the management of public investments. This was announced by the head of the budget committee, Roksolana Pidlas. According to her, this draft law includes provisions on sanctions for unscrupulous weapon suppliers: a fine of 20% of the value is charged for violating the terms of the obligation regarding the quality (completeness) of goods (works, services), and a penalty is charged for violating the terms of the obligation in the amount of 0.1% of the value for each day of delay, and for a delay of more than 30 days, an additional fine of 7% of the value is charged. “Fines will continue to stimulate suppliers to fulfill defense contracts on time and with quality, despite the cancellation of the Economic Code. The state will either receive quality weapons on time, or receive compensation. Given that one defense contract can be worth tens of billions of hryvnias, we are talking about substantial amounts.” – wrote Roksolana Pidlas on Facebook. Advertisement: We will remind: the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law in the first reading on December 19 No. 12245, which amends the Budget Code regarding the procedure for the allocation of investment projects.
