The oil base in Engels caught fire on the night of January 8 after an attack by Ukrainian drones.
According to the governor, the process of controlled burning of fuel is ongoing at the industrial enterprise. According to him, the area of the fire and the amount of smoke are decreasing. Despite the complaints of local residents about the deterioration of air quality, he added that the latest tests did not reveal an excess of the concentration of harmful substances.
“Of course, where can the excess concentration of harmful substances come from after only four days of continuous burning of kerosene?” – wrote one of the commentators under his post.
