General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Pokrovsky direction remains the area of ​​the most active attacks of the Russian Federation – there were more than 60 battles per day

Since the beginning of the day, 157 combat clashes have taken place at the front, the largest number of battles are taking place in the Pokrovsky direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the evening summary.

During the day, the enemy carried out 63 offensive actions here. In particular, near the settlements of Baranivka, Elizavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novy Trud, Zvirove, Novoandriivka, Uspenivka, Slovianka and Kostiantynopolske.

According to the headquarters, in the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian units 22 times near the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Stupochka, and fighting is still ongoing in several locations. In the Kursk area today, the Ukrainian military repelled 17 Russian assaults – one battle is ongoing.

Russian troops are also less intensive, but continue to attack in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Siver, Toretsk, Novopavliv, and Dnieper directions. There were no significant changes in other areas.

There were also Russian attacks in the Kupyansk, Lymansk, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Novopavlovsk, Prydniprovsk directions. There were no significant changes in other areas.

The DeepState project and the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) previously reported that the Russian army in the first days of 2025 is actively capturing new territories to the south, southeast and east of Pokrovsk.

According to DeepState data, the aggressor is not going to storm the city head-on – but will focus on the roads leading to Pokrovsk.

ISW put forward the same hypothesis. According to the Institute’s analysts, the Russian Federation concentrated its efforts on attempts to encircle Pokrovsk.
