Christopher Lockwood, European editor of The Economist, predicts a freeze or reduction in the intensity of hostilities in the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2025.

The material is published in a special edition of the magazine NV The world ahead of 2025 under the exclusive license of The Economist. Reproduction is prohibited.

On February 24, the fourth year of the war in Ukraine begins. The number of dead is already estimated at more than 200,000, and the number of wounded is three to four times higher. Millions of people have been displaced, and Ukraine’s economy has been destroyed. The flight of a huge number of women and children turned into a demographic ticking time bomb for the state.
