On January 11, the final match of the WTA 250 hard tournament took place in Oakland.

American woman McCartney Kessler (WTA 67) beat the second seed and ex-13th racket of the world in three sets Elise Mertens (Belgium, WTA 34) in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
