Details
The agency said that in the morning, as a result of the attack, the administration’s IT systems were down for about 45 minutes.
Thanks to the countermeasures taken, the situation was stabilized
It is noted that DDoS attacks involve overloading websites and applications with targeted requests so that they become unavailable. There is no data leakage during a DDoS attack.
Currently, FOITT and the Federal Office for Cyber Security (FOCBS) are jointly analyzing the attack and determining the appropriate measures.
According to Swissinfo, the Federal Administration has already been the target of hackers several times, in particular during the Global Peace Summit in Bürgenstock in June 2024, when attacks due to overloading of federal websites were detected.
According to FOCBS, they were carried out by pro-Russian hackers.
We will remind
NATO foreign ministers agreed on a package of measures to counter cyber threats from the Russian Federation. Measures include intelligence sharing, additional training and increased protection of critical infrastructure.
